The UK’s Premier Festival & Competition
for Amateur Wine & Beer Enthusiasts

News from the Wales and West

Our 55th ‘Emerald’ Festival plans are now kicking off, schedules and booking forms are winging there way to you.  We have also secured Morrish & Banham who did a fanatastic wine tasting last year to come back again; and working on some nice surprises to mark this special year.

There’s bound to be somewhat of a green theme but not related to wind power but evident in the schedule and probably the winners rosettes.  We’re looking forward to our first year at the Carlton Hotel with everything being on the flat with wonderful views across Torbay from the Riveria Suite.

Our 54th Festival deemed to be a great success with three very well received tutored wine and beer tastings; entertainment each evening; fancy dress [Neil Barton’s giraffe from last year morphed into a bull! Not to mention over 1000 entries in the competition

Aperitif Tasting
3 gin specials, Bombay Sapphire, Tanquaray and Oliver Cromwell from Aldi

Beer Tasting
Wiper & True Cuvee Simple, Siren Suspended in Space, Magic Rock Hedonistic Escalation, Tiny Rebel Dutty, Arbor Choc a Block, Wiper & True Hard Shake
